Ladies Night Out at Salon du Kat: San Diego, Poway Event Photographer

I'm always happy to support a charity - so of course I was happy to join the fun by photographing the Ladies Night Out at Salon du Kat (Website HERE)

It was a benefit for F.I.T.E (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship)



They really treated each guest like royalty! They also offered some shopping - these skirts were adorable.  (Website HERE)

(They provided a gorgeous model to share their beautiful outfits too)



There were delicious snacks provided by Poway Sushi Lounge (Website HERE)



The salon was offering free hair styling, massages, skin treatments - TONS of stuff!



Did I mention professional make up?



And of course there were gift bags for the first 25 ladies and raffle prizes too.



And in addition to capturing the event, I offered free portraits - ready to download and post on facebook (or print and give to mom!)





What a fun  evening!

MCAS Flight Line 10k Dash: Kids 1k San Diego Miramar Event Photographer

Some kids ran the 5 or 10K with mom and dad...



But others chose to sign up for the 1K Aviator Dash.

The Aviator Dash had a fun little twist -- the kids were challenged to chase these two pilots as they ran the course...



Can you see the pale blue ribbons hanging from the pilot's belts?  The kids were supposed to pull those if they caught them - the ribbons were turned in later for a prize.  (And I'll tell you , they gave the pilots a head start and it STILL didn't take very long for the kiddos to catch them!)



After waiting excitedly at the starting line....





The countdown began....

3..2..1..and they were OFF!



(A few parents ran with their kids to keep the energy going...don't worry he wasn't competing!)



The winners received some prizes, but everyone who participated won a ribbon!



Of course at the awards ceremony there were plenty of prizes for the big kids too!

BTW:  The girl in all red (I think they said she was 12 years old, won the woman's 5K and the youth 1k



When the runners (and walkers) had left the starting line, the volunteers switched it over to the finish line...



And I took up my position to try to capture all the racers as they crossed....



Some sweet and romantic...



Some a bit more competitive...

I was asked to be the official photographer for the Flight Line 10K run on the MCAS Miramar Marine Base.

What an honor!  What fun!



Well...
Except.
For.
The.
Rain



But I geared up:



And waded out into the rainy weather.  (BTW:  Loved the little rain coat I bought for my camera - it worked PERFECTLY!)

Erica Fox, from Fox News, kept everyone's spirits up!






Mommy-to-be running a 10K!  AWESOME!



This little guy didn't get wet at all!



There were also loads of happy volunteers looking to make everyone comfortable and happy!



Soon it was time to head to the starting line....and if you tune in tomorrow, I'll show you the race!

Marianne and Dana are engaged! San Diego, La Jolla, Torrey Pines Engagement and Wedding Photographer

I'm so excited to share the engagement session for Marianne and Dana!



I've captured the weddings of both of Dana's brothers and was over-the-moon when they called to ask me to capture Dana's wedding as well.  YAY!

(And along that line, can I just share that they called to make sure I was available to capture their wedding day before they finalized their wedding date? How amazing is that? Talk about feeling honored! I'm over the moon!)



We met at the incredibly gorgeous Torrey Pines Reserve.  And the first thing we did was head out the Canyon Rim trail to the exact spot Dana proposed a few weeks before~!



(Of course I asked them for a quick re-enactment so I could capture that special moment on film for them...So romantic, don't you think?)






We wandered around the park finding one gorgeous backdrop after another...they are so delightful to be with - I can already tell their wedding is going to be fun and amazing!






So much in love and SO much fun!
