One of my favorite parts of our church's Cross of Victory day is watching the kids decorate two crosses with the flowers that they brought from home.

Then the two crosses will decorate the sanctuary on Easter morning.
What starts out as some old wood is TRANSFORMED:

The kids bring flowers from home to donate, so everyone plays a key part in the beautiful project.

Pretzel making is another fun activity.
(Did you know that an Italian monk invented the pretzel as a reward to children who learn their prayers? )

Our confirmation groups volunteer to serve as leaders during the event, and after the kids shape their pretzels, they are baked and bagged to take home!

And of course you can't have 100 kids working up an appetite, without serving a SNACK!

We set out tubs of colorful cereal and treats and let the kids design their own snack. Fun AND Yummy!

How would you fill YOUR baggie? (And I have to admit, I couldn't resist a few of those pink and white frosting coated animal cookies as I strolled on by....just in the interest of keeping up my strength of course....)

God expects from men something more.... the satisfaction of their conscience that their Easter devotions would in some measure come up to their Easter dress. ~Robert South, Sermons
