Did you guess our title is "Saint Patrick's Day" in Irish?
We are SO multi-lingual here aren't we? Roman and Irish in the same week! I tell you, stick with me and we'll be smart in no time!

I'm sure you already know that this day is dedicated to Saint Patrick, a patron saint of Ireland. Through the years this religious holiday has been modified a bit to include wearing green, pinching people who aren't wearing green (remember that when you get dressed today!) shamrocks, leprechauns and parties.....hey - nothing wrong with that!
Over here at my house, we'll be celebrating with green pancakes for breakfast, corned beef and cabbage for dinner and maybe some green cake for dessert..... (
Nothin' says 'Happy St. Pats' like a bottle of green food coloring, I always say.)

In my never ending quest to keep my teenager rolling his eyes at me, I will also scatter gold chocolate coins around on the floor and tip over a few chairs. Why you ask?
Well, 10 years ago, Matt's kindergarten teacher had the kids build leprachaun traps to prevent those tricky little leprechauns from making messes. Matt had so much fun planning and designing a trap, I kept up the tradition at home. (Although I'm sad to say, he no longer sets a trap on St. Pat's Eve......sheesh, why do kids have to grow up?)

What will you be doing to make today special?
I wanted to close this entry with an Irish blessing for you! I'm including two because I loved them both and couldn't decide...(and I'm allowed to do stuff like that since I make all the rules here...)
An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
An Irish Prayer for Friends
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
