Isn't this the weirdest lookin' thing you've ever seen? I think this looks like an elephant's-trunk-fish, or the nose-of-a-cow-creature, or Snuffleupagus-fish....
Well, rest easy - Wendy says it's a closed up anemone.

Haha, I thought I'd check out your blog today and lo and behold I'm staring at weird fish things and I jumped. Why is this so funny? Well I've got a phobia of everything ocean/sea. To give you an idea of how bad it is; I can't watch Fining Nemo with out hyperventilating and tensing up... I know, I'm ashamed lol.
Anyhow to answer your question on my blog, for the weird distortion affect I'm using a Tokina 11-16mm lens. I'm using it for my Widerature project. Basically I'm taking portrait shots with an ultrawide lens. Here's a link to the ongoing project.

Yes, rough life. Glad you're living it and I can absorb it vicariously! How cool. And for real, my boys and I watched Finding Nemo tonight. Total coincidence as we haven't watched it in at least a year!
